One thing I love about photographing seniors is how fun and creative their visions for each session are! Kaleah wanted her entire session to have a free-spirited film aesthetic. I've been seeing a filmy look trend in the photography styles of portrait photographers in the area and I was just waiting for the excuse to try it out! The film vibes along with Kaleah's enchanting island princess vibes brought her photos to life. Even days after the session, I'm still so in love with her gallery!!
Having known Kaleah for years, I’ve watched her grow into an amazing young woman. Her strong faith and passion for Jesus shine brightly in her everyday life. Anyone who has spent time with Kaleah can attest to her ability to share truth with honesty and kindness, making every conversation enjoyable. I wish her all the best as she gets ready to pursue ministry opportunities after high school! I was delighted to get to document her at this point in life!
Senior Session in SWFL
"So, like...if you WANTED to...maybe we can find a film camera to do some of the photos..." -Kaleah, at some point.
And that was all I needed, LOL. For this session, I decided to invest in the film camera I have wanted for some time! I was absolutely thrilled to bring along this camera to capture her essence on actual film, along with digitally taken pictures that had a film-like quality. There’s something special about the grain and warmth of film photography that is challenging to imitate digitally. (Scroll to the bottom to see the film images!!)
We chose Lover's Key State Park in Southwest Florida, as the backdrop for our photoshoot. The journey to discover stunning driftwood spots felt like a mini adventure in itself. Despite trekking for what seemed like MILES, the effort was worthwhile. We laughed, splashed in the water, and posed for countless shots. (Jk, it was more like 1157 *screams in over-shooting*)
During our time at the park, joyful laughter blended with the sound of the waves. The natural elements—sand, sea, and sunlight—came together to create an ideal setting for romantic beachy film vibes. Moving through each pose was effortless for this beauty! It was hard to stop the session because every shot came so easily!
I hope you enjoy viewing the nostalgic artistry of Kaleah's gallery just as much as we enjoyed creating it together. And Kaleah, I wish you all the best and good success in your upcoming ministry activities!!
